which camera is better for recording videos Canon powershot sd 1100, 1200, or 780?
im gonna be doing guitar covers if that makes a difference.
please let me know the different features that each one has
The SD780 IS records video in HD (1280×720 @ 30fps) and the other two only record in VGA quality (640×480 @ 30fps).
So, for better quality video, the SD780 IS is the best one. However, HD video has VERY large file sizes (approx.10mins 53 secs of video per 2GB). You will need to buy a High Speed SDHC card for recording HD video. I recommend the excellent Sandisk Extreme III SDHC in 4-8GB, depending on how much capacity you’ll need.
Also, make sure you always Format your brand new card before you use it the first time (via the camera Menu) and whenever you need to delete all files in one go.
I also recommend you buy an SDHC compatible Card Reader, because it’s a much faster method of transferring your files to the computer, compared to using the supplied Usb Cable.
p.s. don’t expect overly great audio quality because these ultra compact cameras have equally small sized internal microphones…if you’re not happy with the audio quality, I recommend an HD camcorder instead, because they have far superior audio recording capability.
