Here Comes The Cannon, Canon Eos 500D

Another great addition to Canon Digital family is Canon Eos 500D, its full name is Canon EOS 500D / Digital Rebel T1i Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens. This digital camera is really a great addition to Canon’s arsenal, it will and it already does bombard the competition. With the improvements made from 450D and the price for which Canon EOS 500D is sold it will blow up competitors like Nikon D90 out of the picture. The thing about this digital camera is that when you look at it from the outside there are slight changes but when you take it onto your hands you will know the difference.

Canon EOS 500D has made some drastic changes and improvements, it evolved. Basic designed is changed making it a little uncomfortable for people with large hands but that is just a small obstacle, the difference in weight from its predecessor 450D is only 5 grams. But the technical specs of this digital camera show how much it is improved.

Canon EOS 500D has a 15.1 megapixel resolution with 15.1 effective megapixels, providing you with image size 4752 x 3168, 3456 x 2304 and 2353 x 1568. 500D has a DIGIC 4 image processor, four levels of noise reduction and four levels of auto lighting optimizer. The best thing about Canon EOS 500D is that its menu has an additional improvement, aside from making it more plain and easier for use it has an optimization option, so you can make your menu look like whatever you want, you can pick all the thing that you need and use and make them easily accessible.

With Canon EOS 500D also came the new version of the flash gun, Speedlite 270EX, you can now take pictures with light in impossible places with this flash gun. But probably the most praised thing about this digital camera is the enhanced DSLR movie mode, allowing you video recordings in high quality resolution:

-    1080p at 20fps
-     720p at 30fps
-     VGA at 30fps

Canon EOS 500D also has a fabulous face recognition module, live view mode and quick mode. It allows you High Speed continuous shooting at 3.4 frames per second; you can produce 170 JPEG/fine frames or 9 RAW frames. The great thing about movie mode that I forgot to mention is that your recordings are placed in MOV format, but with the camera you get a Canon software that will format your recordings into all others like AVI or MPEG, so you don’t need to worry about that.

The last thing remaining is the price for Canon EOS 500D and that is the pleasant surprise. It’s much cheaper than Nikon D90 and has all these features better. The price range for Canon EOS 500d is from $840 to $1500, now if you want to save money and time my suggestion would be to check out price comparison websites that will give you an insight in what you are getting for that money. That way you may find the best price for your Canon EOS 500D.
