According to the first page below (from the Canon Website), it does not take static images. The second url is a downloadable .pdf file specification sheet.
To connect to a computer it uses a DV Connection (also known as iLink, Firewire, and IEEE1394), or AV Connection. (The third url below shows you a picture of a DV cable.)
