I’m enrolled in a graphic design course and recently realised that it’s so expensive to get my assignments printed commercially. I’m thinking of getting an A3 printer but I’m not sure which to go with, the slightly more expensive Epson Stylus Photo 1410 or the Canon Ix4000?

I am no graphic designer, but will give my opinion from regular printer user perspective.

Please stay away from epson. There is a reason why staple and other stores do not recycle epson cartridges. I hate epson’s controlling attitude. about a year ago I had this epson printer with a black and the color cartidges. It won’t allow me to print from only 1 cartridges. I had to have a black cartridges replaced/refilled before I can use the color cartridges, eventhough I wanted to print in color only and the color cartridge was full (black was almost empty).

Canon printers are better and that explains why they have significantly increased market share.
