Stream

Stream

F-8.0
Shutter Speed: 1/400
ISO: 400
This picture was taken on January 8,2012.
This picture was taken in Graham near Mountain Highway.
This meets the requirements for this project in many ways. There is no camera jiggle in the picture creating a clear image. There is a stream with vibrant color running through the picture framed in by the surrounding brush. The stream has a unique shape making the image interesting to the eye. Due to the stream running from one portion of the picture to another that shows movement which causes your eye to look at the entire picture.

Mountain/Symmetrical Balance

F-8.0
Shutter Speed: 1/1600
ISO: 400
This picture was taken on January 8,2012.
This picture was taken in Graham near Mountain Highway.
This meets the requirements for this project in many ways. There is no camera jiggle in the picture creating a clear image. The mountain appears interesting to the eye due to the shadows scattered about it by the sun. The background is simple and uncomplicated and this fits the rule of thirds. There is no man-made objects in the picture creating a natural scene.
CBPA Final Description:
This is my best example of symmetrical balance because to begin with this photo is very simple. If you were to split the photo in to by a dividing line right down the center you could see that both sides of the photo are nearly exactly the same. There are equal portions of mountains and trees on each side of the picture.
Elements and Principles: The first element demonstrated here in this photo would be space. The space is filled by trees in front of the mountain. You then see the mountain itself, the main focus of the space and above that you get a glimpse of the wonderful blue sky. All the space is filled and creates a simplistic yet elegant image. The next element that you can see demonstrated would be color, but not just any kind of color. This photo is filled with cool colors creating a quiet, relaxed photo. There is also a bit of neutral colors that can be observed in the photo. One principle that you can see in this photo is balance. As I have described above the specific balance that you can see demonstrated in this photo would be closest to symmetrical due to the even distribution of objects in the picture.
